This master profile is a quality-first starting point for the FlashForge AD5X with a 0.4 mm nozzle. It keeps the machine fast, but backs away from the stock speed ceiling where surface finish, consistency, and dimensional reliability benefit.

Use for display pieces, dimensional parts, visible curves, and anything where ringing bothers you more than print time.
The default choice. Fast enough to feel like an AD5X, conservative enough to preserve clean walls and dependable extrusion.
Good for prototypes and forgiving geometry. The filament's max volumetric flow may become the real limiter before these speeds are reached.

For speed-sensitive hidden parts, Nearest seam is acceptable. For display faces, manually place or hide the seam where possible.
If corners lift or layers become brittle, reduce auxiliary cooling before raising bed temperature aggressively.
The AD5X is rated up to 20,000 mm/s² acceleration, but surface quality rarely needs the ceiling.

Calibrate by filament brand and color when quality matters. Pigments can change flow behavior more than people expect.
Dry PLA → drop nozzle 5°C → verify retraction around 2.0 mm / 45 mm/s.
Lower outer-wall acceleration → lower outer-wall speed → verify belts and motion system.
Raise nozzle 5°C → reduce cooling → slow high-flow sections.
Recheck flow ratio → slow top surface → add one top layer if needed.
Reduce bed heat after layer one → tune first-layer squish → use elephant-foot compensation.
Clean plate → reduce auxiliary fan → use 55-60°C bed or add brim.
Use full bridge cooling → lower bridge speed → slightly reduce bridge flow if strands sag.
Lower max volumetric flow / speed → raise temp 5°C → confirm nozzle is clean.
